Although numerical simulation of spherically focused logging tools has been reported in the literature, the exact tool configuration used to achieve the focusing effect is not commonly known. In this paper, four different focusing conditions are compared. Three of the four focusing conditions are inferred from the open literature and the fourth was obtained from a service company through a confidentiality agreement. The resulting logs are found to be qualitatively similar, but some minor quantitative differences do exist. These focusing conditions form a basis on which different simulation techniques and softwares can be compared.
